There was an alternative to dropping the bombs on the two cities in Japan, an alternative proposed by some of the scientists in the USA who had made the first A-bombs. They proposed a demonstration of one bomb off the coast of Japan to the Japanese leadership. If they still refused to surrender, then the USAAF would carry out the planned attacks. Why was this not carried out?

i hate nuclear bombs. over 4000 kids die from starvation, while over 200 billion dollars are spent on nuclear weapons that bring death showers. its horrible. i only wish there was something i could have done, or can do in the future.
